Hope Rising: A New Wave Sweeps the District
Can you feel it?
In the quiet lull that follows the clamor of rallies, debates and dark-money funded phone surveys, where does the echo of real engagement settle? Into the twilight whispers of Arvada and Westminster, unheard but ever present—a mystery in today's scripted political theatre.
Picture this: a makeshift campaign office at dawn, maps sprawled across dinner table, pins marking the heartbeats of our district—homes of those who hope, who despair, who dream.
Since our launch last June 2023, we have been rewriting the playbook on how campaigns are run—not from afar, with broad assumptions and generic ads, but up close, with listening ears and an open heart.
Over the last 10 months, we bypassed traditional campaign rhetoric, opting for action over words. My volunteer team of 140+ people chose to lead with community service —feeding families, aiding our older residents, and cleaning up dog parks to create tangible change.
What’s missing in modern politics? Real, unscripted engagement.
I’m on a mission to reconnect politics with personal engagement that breaks down barriers and builds trust.
So, over the next 7 days (May 4 - May 11), I will personally knock on 1,000 doors.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Door-knocking is a strategy as old as democracy yet as fresh as each conversation it sparks. It is a study in human dynamics— both a science and a craft. Door-knocking requires a precise mix of timing, geography, and sociology - aiming to personalize the political process.
And here is a forgotten principle in modern politics: door-knocking is not about spreading our message; it is about intently listening to the concerns and hopes of our neighborhoods.
Each knock is an opportunity to gather direct feedback, to measure the pulse of our community, and to forge a personal connection that no robocall or mailer can replicate.
As our journey nears its climax (election in June), I am also concluding the final 11 stops of my Listening Tour, ensuring that every voice, not just heard, but felt, becomes a compass guiding our collective journey forward. The next stop is at the Westminster Hills Open Space Dog Park on May 8.
Together, we’re not just changing the conversation; we’re changing the future.
