Take Action: Support BIPAC and celebrate diversity
Announcements
Quick Update:
My firefighter journey update: I am thankful to the community for your support as I am currently knee-deep in my 2nd month of a rigorous 15-week EMT training, as I juggle classes with my duties on City Council and community events. It has already been an eye-opening experience as I learn prehospital emergency care, trauma assessment, airway management, cardiac interventions, behavioral crises, and high-pressure decision-making.
Local Democratic Party updates:
The results of the Senate District 19 Chair race (between Amber Hott and Samantha Walsh) that occurred on February 8 was invalidated and is under investigation by the Colorado Democratic Party. They are conducting a new election (this time run by the state party to ensure accuracy) this Sunday on March 2 at the Reorganization Meeting.
Also on March 2, I will be running for Vice Chair of the House District 29 party, alongside my dear friends Michelle Zajic (running for Chair), Chris Stimpson (running for Treasurer), and Judy Pickeral (running for Secretary). We hope to have your support!
BIG Job Fair: Join me this Saturday (Mar 1), 9AM-1PM at City Park Rec Center
Support BIPAC and celebrate diversity on these final days of Black History Month
As the Trump administration attempts to vilify diversity, equity and inclusion — it’s worth asking, why? Millions of women, veterans, workers, educators, students, and people with disabilities rely on DEI for protection, opportunity, and dignity.
So what is “DEI”?
Diversity asks, “who is in the room?”
Equity asks, “who is trying to get in the room but can’t?”
Inclusion asks, “have everyone’s ideas been heard?”
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is why we have parental leave, family restrooms, captions on TV, flexible schedules, breastfeeding accommodations, ramps and curb cuts, pay transparency, workplace protections, size-inclusive medical equipment, floating holidays, disability-friendly workspaces, and even belt extenders on planes—ensuring equity in everyday life.
Action: If you’re worried about the direction of our government and want to take meaningful action today, then focus on local and donate to BIPAC—the state’s first fund solely dedicated to electing People of Color to office (also backing LGBTQ+ candidates). Since launching in 2023, we’ve helped elect 8 winning candidates at the city and state level, including Michael Carter, Junie Joseph, Brianna Titone, Isabel Cruz, and Chris Russell and others.
On this final day of Black History Month, help us elect the next generation of diverse leaders in Colorado: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bipac
