The News is Out: I’m Running for State Senate District 19
I'm thrilled to declare my candidacy for the State Senate! As Sen. Rachel Zenzinger terms out in 2024, I am compelled with a sense of urgency to continue to safeguard our democracy and secure a bright future for my daughter - and every child. My vision is to design our district to be the ideal place to raise a child, start a business, and retire with dignity. We’ll do that with a unifying message and a broad coalition focused on improving education and addressing affordability crises across housing, childcare, healthcare, energy bills, and more.
I am so honored to have earned the endorsement of numerous elected officials across State Legislature, Jefferson County, and municipalities across the state. Some include Senate President Pro Tem James Coleman, Majority Caucus Co-Chair Brianna Titone, Jefferson County Commissioner Andy Kerr, and State Senators Jessie Danielson, Lisa Cutter, Janet Buckner, Faith Winter, and many more.
I am a first-generation American with lived experience overcoming the struggles of a broken system that leaves too many behind. My campaign will champion the economic freedom for families, seniors, and local businesses to thrive with opportunity; your democratic freedom to speak out and ensure your voice and vote matter; and your personal freedom to read, learn, and love on your own terms.
I bring decades of community service, non-profit leadership, entrepreneurship, and business experience working across healthcare, transportation, technology, and hospitality industries. And I will be ready to hit the ground running on Day 1 due to policymaking experience gained as a Westminster City Councilor, and as an intern for the current State Senator, Rachel Zenzinger, at the Joint Budget Committee this past legislative session.
For my Westminster constituents, rest assured that I am embarking on this journey for you. I will be able to deliver you solutions for the pocketbook issues that I know burden you, and I will remain on my council - fully dedicated to you - as this Senate election is for November 2024. While my time on the council has been rewarding, the challenges our state confronts require the broad, determined vision I can bring as a senator. Service to the community is a journey, not bound by timelines, but by the urgency of the needs we face. I'm seeking a larger platform to deliver impactful solutions for all Coloradans. My top priority this summer will be supporting the election of Amber Hott, Claire Carmelia, and Tim Pegg to our Westminster City Council.
I invite you to join me, donate if you're able, and reach out to me. I'm here to listen and make your voices heard.
Yours in service and hope,
Obi Ezeadi, City Councilor and State Senate Candidate (SD19, Arvada & Westminster)
Help us make history - please chip in $19 and be a part of sending me to the Senate as the district’s first Black Senator.

LETS GOOO!! So excited for your campaign Obi!
What policy proposals - if any - do you have to protect Colorado homeowners from the abusive, fraudulent, predatory, and criminal business practices of the H.O.A. industry special interests that govern half of this state's population ?
note : I don't live in your district, so you don't have to care about what I think. Hell, even my own elected representatives didn't care (including my Congress Critter; I forget his name, but I hear he's the Governor now). But I did grow up (or at least older) in Arvada, and my H.O.A.-burdened property (which I no longer own) was in Westminster.
